A “Person of Interest”

Read Galatians 6, Psalm 40
A “Person of Interest”

“But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” Matthew 10:30-31

“Person of interest” has come to enjoy wide usage to describe suspects or potential suspects in crime investigations.

Beyond crime investigations we all have, are, or will become “persons of interest.”

We all have or have had parents, spouses, family, friends, preachers, teachers, and stars of TV, movies, or sports who are “persons of interest” to us. When we are attracted to someone of the opposite sex, they become “persons of interest.”

When someone becomes a “person of interest,” we are interested in everything about them. As we grow in our relationship with them, we get to know them better by learning more about them.

We need to know that we became a “person of interest” to God long before we were ever born. God knew our name before we were ever conceived. He is interested in everything we do in this life He has given us and has made great plans for us if we will only receive His gracious gift of eternal life, and trust and obey Him.

The key to a happy life now and forever is in making Jesus Christ the “person of interest” around who we build and live our lives. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no good thing will God withhold from those who make Him their “person of interest.”

When we become interested enough to learn what he did and said, we will learn what we should be doing and saying.

Our first lesson should be to love God as He did. Secondly we should love others and make everyone God puts across our path a “person of interest” as we reflect God’s love to them.

Father, thank You for making me a “person of interest” to You. By the power of Your Spirit, help me to make Jesus the primary “person of interest” in my life. . In Jesus’ name, Amen

God Bears All

Read Galatians 6, Isaiah 53:1-11
God Bears All

“Give your burdens to the LORD, and He will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.” Psalm 55:22 NLT

God’s kindness in bearing with us and for us the penalty for our sins, our wanderings, and all of our other imperfections is a reminder that we need to be more forbearing and patient with others. God doesn’t love us because of these things but in spite of them, and we need to love others in spite of their short comings.

God’s bearing of all of our burdens is one of the greatest gifts we have ever been given. He replaces our worries with peace, our sorrows with joy, and our desperation with hope. He can carry all that we are willing to place upon Him.

With God the loads of fear, doubt, and guilt are lightened by the all- sufficient grace of God who will bear whatever burden we are not able to bear in our own strength.

God bears all so that we are free to bear all for which He created us. The only bearing we need to pursue is the fruit of the Spirit, the fruits of righteousness, and the fruits of good works that are ours for the bearing as we bear witness to the truth of God’s love and transforming power by the lives we lead.

Before God can bear all for us, we need to bare all before Him. We need to bare our shame, guilt, and sorrow for our sins so that He can become the heavy-weight lifter of our lives.

Father, thank you for bearing the burden of all my sins, and for loving me in spite of them. In Jesus’ name, Amen
