I Don’t Remember!

There is a story about a man claiming to be able to talk with God. The priest who was checking out his claim, asked him to ask God what sin the priest had done in his youth that was so terrible. When the man came back, he told the priest that God had said: “I don’t remember!”

Justification by faith is one of the great truths of the Christian faith. Through our faith that Jesus Christ died on the cross as full payment for our sins, we are justified and regain right standing with God “just as if we had never sinned.” We have the imputed righteousness of Christ.

When our “book of life” is opened at the “resurrection of the just”, we are going to find that all of our sins have been erased, and the only thing left for us to account for are the good works ”for which we were created”.

This fact that we have forever forgiveness should never be considered a license to keep on sinning. Rather it should be a reminder that we should keep on forgiving others as we have been forgiven, and to live lives fully pleasing to our forgiver and being fruitful in every good work.

When we learn to accept the forgiveness of God, forgive others, and to forgive ourselves can we begin to live in the joy of the Lord and in a vital and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Prayer:
Father, Keep me ever mindful that you erased my sins with the precious blood of your only Son, and although I can never be worthy, let me always be thankful. In Jesus’ name, Amen

Until next time…
May the Lord Richly Bless You
