Landfills and garbage dumps are filling up faster than they can be built thanks to the “throw away” culture of our times.

Good Listeners

“God blesses the one who reads this prophecy to the church, and he blesses all who listen to it and obey what it says. For the time is near when these things will happen.” Revelation 1:3 NLT

One of the biggest problems in the world today is the absence of good listeners. A constant complaint most often heard by marriage counselors is the fact that many spouses just don’t listen.

Back in the 1930’s, the idea that the Federal Government should start retirement and disability benefits for all workers was not warmly received among many people. Many saw social security as social welfare which they believed would lead to the demise of the American Way.

The sense of social security we live out daily at school, at work, at play, and within the family is going to a large degree determine the quality of our every day lives. In school and on the playground we seek the social security of being accepted by others. Read the rest of this devotional »

Where’s Your Hope?
