The Fall Out
Read Matthew 18:6-7, Psalm 103
The Fall Out
“I show this unfailing love to many thousands by forgiving every kind of sin and rebellion. Even so I do not leave sin unpunished, but I punish the children for the sins of their parents to the third and fourth generations.” Exodus 34:7 NLT
Adam and Eve sinned and got not only themselves, but all who would come after them kicked out of paradise.
The bad choice of rejecting God’s wonderful gift of salvation and relationship breaks the covenant of Grace which has been promised to the children and children’s children of believers.
The bad choice of walking out instead of working it out often scars children and robs them of the security of being loved.
The bad self-serving choices we make almost always cause a fall out and harm to others.
Satan has used the moral failures of believers to discourage and cause millions of others to stumble and fall away over the centuries. Prisons are full of professing Christians who in a bad moment have made a bad choice and are suffering lingering and painful consequences.
God sent Jesus Christ to die on the cross to set the captives free. We are no longer in bondage to sin. We are free to be all that we can be in Christ.
When temptations come (as they will) we are free to claim God’s promise that He will provide a means of escape, and His strength to make the right choices when confronted by evil.
The Holy Spirit will often give us the awareness of what harm our bad choices will do to others in order to help us make the right choice in fleeing, standing firm, and overcoming temptation. In Jesus’ name,Amen

Proof of the Pudding
“Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who trust in him!” Psalm 34:8 NLT
Don Quixote wasn’t too smart when it came to differentiating between dragons and windmills, but He was smart enough to figure out that the “proof of the pudding is in the eating,” or that the actual use of something is the best test.
We can come up with all the brilliant ideas in the world, and talk until we’re blue in the face, but “The proof of the pudding is in the eating!” Read the rest of this entry »
Let’s Make a Deal!
Read 1 Corinthians 2:9-17, Psalm 119:17-24
Let’s Make a Deal!
“So also Christ died only once as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again but not to deal with our sins again. This time he will bring salvation to all those who are eagerly waiting for him.” Hebrews 9:28 NLT

Encourage!
Read Romans 15:1-13, Ecclesiastes 4:7-12
Encourage!
“Think of ways to encourage one another to outbursts of love and good deeds.” Hebrews 10:24 NLT
There is a power too often ignored and too little used in the lives of believers. This power can change lives, strengthen relationships, and accomplish miracles. This power is available for everyone to generate, and for everyone to receive. It is the power of positive reinforcement, or of edification which means building up. Read the rest of this entry »
