Open Our Eyes Lord
Read 1 John 4:7-20, Psalm 97
Open Our Eyes Lord
“Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Ephesians 5:1 NIV
How many people do you know who remind you of Jesus? One of the sacred delights of all believers should be those we know who remind us that Jesus is alive and well, and living and loving among us and through us.

Do We Wobble?
Read James 1:4-8, Psalm 103
Do We Wobble?
“This is what God says: ‘Why do you disobey the Lord’s commands? You will not prosper. Because you have forsaken the Lord, He has forsaken you.’“ 2 Chronicles 24:20 NIV

Read John 1, Psalm 85
We Are Blessed!
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.” Ephesians 1:3 NLT
This verse should be one of the most encouraging in all of Scripture for believers. It is filled with promise and power. It should set our hearts on fire for the love of God that is ours in Christ. Read the rest of this entry »
Watch Out for Those Propensities
Read Romans 7:4-25, Psalm 18
Watch Out for Those Propensities
“But remember that the temptations that come into your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will keep the temptation from becoming so strong that you can’t stand up against it. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you will not give in to it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 NLT
“For I have kept the ways of the LORD; I have not turned from my God to follow evil.” Psalm 18:21 NLT
Propensity means “often intense natural inclination or preference or leaning.” Satan is aware of our propensities and is continually pushing our hot buttons to exploit them. We can avoid a lot of grief, pain, and consequences if we can identity our propensities and consciously seek to avoid or overcome them.
Even as born-again believers who have been set free from domination and condemnation of sin, we co-exist in the flesh with those old natural inclinations or propensities. Read the rest of this entry »
