Good Listeners
“God blesses the one who reads this prophecy to the church, and he blesses all who listen to it and obey what it says. For the time is near when these things will happen.” Revelation 1:3 NLT
One of the biggest problems in the world today is the absence of good listeners. A constant complaint most often heard by marriage counselors is the fact that many spouses just don’t listen.
Students tune out teachers, children tune out parents and vice versa. It is interesting to note that most of the people we admire are good listeners who listen to us. Read the rest of this entry »

Back in the 1930’s, the idea that the Federal Government should start retirement and disability benefits for all workers was not warmly received among many people. Many saw social security as social welfare which they believed would lead to the demise of the American Way.
The sense of social security we live out daily at school, at work, at play, and within the family is going to a large degree determine the quality of our every day lives. In school and on the playground we seek the social security of being accepted by others. Read the rest of this entry »

Where’s Your Hope?
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:30-32
There seems to be a lot of wishing going on without much hoping. We wish or desire for what we perceive are good things for ourselves and others but somehow seem to become very doubtful about our wishes coming true. Read the rest of this entry »

Do You Double Dribble?
