Finding the Right Outlet
“Present yourselves as building stones for the construction of a sanctuary vibrant with life, in which you’ll serve as holy priests offering Christ-approved lives up to God.” 1 Peter 2:4b MSG
The key to a fulfilling life in Christ is to find the right outlet for your energy, talents, drives, and emotions.
We all have a lot of excess energy that we can either expend on trivial pursuits or self-centered agendas, or we could use this energy to grow in our relationship with the Lord through growing in His Word.
God has provided the right outlet for our sexual drives. It is one man and one woman in a God-ordained spiritual and physical union called marriage. Any deviation from what God has ordained leads to dysfunctional lives and robs us of the greatest pleasure God wants us to have through the gift of sexuality.
God provides us with plenty of outlets to be salt and light in a sin-sick world. We are called to be Ambassadors for Jesus Christ with the command to love and serve others.
The best outlet for all of the basic instincts and evils of our old sin nature that satan may use to destroy us is the Cross of Calvary
When we learn to let out our anger, disappointments, lust, envy, pride, and other cardinal sins that often creep in as we co-exist with our flesh and our spirit, the Holy Spirit will fill us with the fruit of His Spirit.
We not only find the right outlet, but we become the right outlet of God’s love, grace, and mercy that He can use to build up His kingdom.
Father, by the power of Your Spirit, make me the right outlet for others to see Jesus. In Jesus’ name, Amen
