The Mercy Seat of God [James 5:13-16, Psalm 92]

Read James 5:13-16, Psalm 92
The Mercy Seat of God

“The truth is, you can go directly to the Father and ask Him, and He will grant your request because you use My name. You haven’t done this before. Ask, using My name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.” John 16:23b,24 NLT

Whether sitting, standing, lying down, or kneeling…whether at home, or in a hospital, car, plane, or at church….all believers have a reserved seat at the mercy seat of God and access to His throne of grace through prayer.

There are prayers of adoration and praise, of confession and repentance, of thanksgiving, and of supplication for our needs and the needs of others.

Prayers cost us nothing, yet they cost Jesus everything, even His own life. It was only through the perfect, unblemished life of Jesus and His blood shed as the perfect sacrifice that rent the veil of the temple and
allows us free access into the very presence of God through prayer.

Prayer will provide God’s strength to cover our weaknesses, God’s wisdom to light our path, and give peace to calm our troubled hearts.

God’s mercy seat abounds in grace and forgiveness we don’t deserve.

There is nothing that God will not forgive when we ask with a broken spirit and contrite heart.

God loves to give good gifts to His children who ask. When we abide in Christ, we get more prayers answered because we pray more for things that honor and glorify God and less self centered and selfish.

There are millions of changed lives, saved souls, and blessings more abundant than we could ever dare ask or hope that testify to the truth that God honors the fervent prayers of the faithful.

There are millions of healings, saved marriages, provisions for every need, and even the granting of the desires of hearts that are the results of answered prayers at the mercy seat of God.

Father, thank you for the sacred delight of experiencing answered prayers. In Jesus’ name, Amen
