Divine Dividends

“For God is the one who gives seed to the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will give you many opportunities to do good, and he will produce a great harvest of generosity in you. Yes, you will be enriched so that you can give even more generously.” 2 Corinthians 9:10,11a NLT

There is a universal law of life that says you only get out of something what you put into it. We have all heard this axiom used in regard to clubs, hobbies, and other activities.

There are promises from God that we will always get more out of investing our time, talents, and treasures in obedience to Him. Unlike the stock market these divine dividends are guaranteed.

Although Paul is specifically talking about money in 2 Corinthians 9, we can expand this principle to our other areas of offerings.

When we invest our faith in Jesus Christ, we receive instant new life, everlasting eternal life, and divine dividends including the peace and security that only a right relationship with the Father through the Son can give.

When we invest our time in fulfilling the purposes for which God created us, we receive the overwhelming joy that only glorifying God can provide.

When we invest our talents to the glory of God and to His service, we receive the dividend of satisfaction in knowing that God is pleased when we honor Him.

We cannot out give, out serve, or out love God. When we give Him our all, we become plugged into the fount of blessings that will never run dry. In every case, He will return more and better than we can ever offer.

Father, help me to make wise investments in Your kingdom that I might reap the harvest of blessings You promise to all who invest in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen
