Watch Out For Your Nature [Romans 8, Psalm 10]

[Read Romans 8, Psalm 10]
Watch Out For Your Nature

“All of us used to live that way, following the passions and desires of our evil nature. We were born with an evil nature, and we were under God’s anger just like everyone else.” Ephesians 2:3

When we don’t believe in God, we don’t believe that what He says is wrong is truly wrong, and we are free to wallow in the worst that our sinful natures can come up with.

We can pursue all of the pleasures of the flesh, the approval of the world, and the influences of the devil. Without God, we answer the call of nature to live much like wild animals roaming through the jungle of life living on basic instincts.

Without God, we become our own gods and make our own judgments concerning approving or participating in things God specifically forbids, such as homosexuality, same-sex marriages, killing unborn babies, living together apart from marriage, and living the lie of relative truth.

When God sets us free from bondage to our sinful nature through giving us a new life in Christ He gives us a very sensitive instrument to gauge our conduct and our thinking. It’s called a conscience.

Our conscience kicks in to convict us of our sinfulness and our need for a savior. The Holy Spirit who comes to live inside of us when we receive Jesus Christ as our Savior continues to develop our consciences to guide our paths and to keep us living in the freedom from sin that Christ died to give us.

When we are abiding in Christ, we have the green light of a clear conscience that fills us with the peace and joy of the Lord which is what the abundant life is all about.

This conscience is designed to send out warnings to override the control of the calls of our sinful nature and give us the strength to overcome them. The more we grow into the fullness of Christ, the more strength we will receive to live a life fully pleasing to God.

Pray with me…
Father, keep my conscience clear that I may know the overflowing joy of peace in You.In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Please help us provide a Christmas for inmates that do not have any family. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.

May the Lord Bless your day abundantly
Tim
